Since 1978, Greater Houston Preservation Alliance
has promoted the preservation and appreciation of Houston's
architectural and cultural historic resources through education,
advocacy and committed action. GHPA is the one organization
dedicated to the preservation, revitalization and continued
use of Houston's historic resources. Your membership in GHPA
will help ensure that historic preservation has a voice in
Houston as our city enters a crucial new phase in its economic
and cultural development.
The concerns that GHPA addresses are shared by all Houstonians,
not just those who live in older neighborhoods or who own
historic properties. Urban revitalization and economic diversification,
defense of neighborhood integrity and authenticity of place,
preservation of green space, and protection of historic resources
are among the most critical issues we face. By joining GHPA,
you will make a positive impact on quality of life throughout
Houston.
GHPA's recent history has been marked by exceptional growth,
giving us a broader reach and a wider audience than at any
time in the organization's history. Our 500 members and volunteers,
supported by our professional staff, are committed to preserving
the best of Houston's architectural and cultural heritage.
We who share a common vision for our city's future must speak
with one voice so that our elected officials will know how
deeply we care about our community and its history. Since
1978, GHPA has been a strong advocate for better public policy
and protection of our shared heritage. With your support,
we will advance GHPA's enduring legacy of advocacy and achievement
for the benefit of all Houstonians.
Sincerely,
Ramona Davis
