The Clayton Family: GHPA President's Award

1102 Yale, LP, will accept a Good Brick Award for rediscovering and rehabilitating a long-forgotten Art Deco treasure at Yale and 11th Street in the Heights. The streamlined commercial building was built in 1936 and designed by Stayton Nunn, one of the architects for the innovative River Oaks Shopping Center, but had been hidden underneath a 1980s mansard roof and brick facade. Phil Schawe was the architect for the project.

Next winner: John H. Reagan High School
